Ikenga: The Last Festival has crossed the N75 million mark at the Nigerian box office and is now the highest-grossing Igbo title of all time, according to FilmOne Entertainment.
FilmOne announced the milestone on Monday in a post on X, revealing that the film has also maintained its position as the highest-grossing Nollywood film for three consecutive weeks.
The latest milestone marks another major step in the film’s cinema run, which has seen it maintain strong audience interest since opening nationwide in August.

FilmOne said the film’s performance reflects the strong response it has received from moviegoers since its release.

The distributor also thanked audiences who have supported the film, crediting moviegoers for helping drive its performance at the box office.

Ikenga: The Last Festival opened in Nigerian cinemas on August 21, 2026.
The film was directed by Darlington Kelechi and features Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwo, Zubby Michael, Beverly Osu, Jide Kene Achufusi, Regina Daniels and Destiny Etiko.
The film had already made an early mark at the box office, grossing N22 million in its first three days in cinemas. FilmOne described the result as the highest-grossing opening weekend for an Igbo film in West Africa.

- On August 11, 2026, Nairametrics reported that Call of My Life had crossed N855 million at the Nigerian box office, extending its position as the highest-grossing local film of 2026 at the time. The film had also maintained the number-one position at the box office for six consecutive weekends.
- Earlier, on March 17, 2026, Nairametrics reported that Love and New Notes had reached N328 million, making it the highest-grossing film in West Africa at the time. The romantic drama, distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, had sustained strong cinema attendance across Nigeria and Ghana.
On the international scene, Hollywood releases have also been making waves in Nigerian and West African cinemas, with several major productions recording strong box-office performances.
- On August 24, 2026, Nairametrics reported that Spider-Man: Brand New Day had crossed N1.8 billion at the West African box office, becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the region.
- Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey also recorded a strong run in Nigeria, grossing N215.5 million in its opening week before crossing N423 million after two weeks in cinemas.
The Michael Jackson biopic Michael also joined the list of major international box-office performers after crossing N800 million in Nigeria, and pointing to a strong audience appetite for major Hollywood releases alongside the growing performance of local productions.

Nigeria’s cinema industry has been on a broader recovery path, with gross box-office revenue rising from N7.36 billion in 2023 to N15.64 billion in 2025.
The market is projected to cross N20 billion in 2026, although the growth is expected to come partly from higher ticket prices and stronger performances from major releases.
The recovery has also strengthened Nollywood’s position in the regional market. In 2025, Nigerian films accounted for 49.4% of West Africa’s box-office revenue, narrowly ahead of Hollywood’s 48.8%.
