Stock market continues positive streak as capitalization grows by N248 billion

Nigerian stocks ASI Increased by over 600 points, steadily eliminating the YTD losses, Equities market Closes on a Positive Note as Market Cap Gains N64.93 billion, Nigerian Bourse Records decline after Market Cap dips by N82.83 billion

The NGX closed on a positive note amidst sell-offs and buy-interests as the benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) appreciated by 101 basis points. The NGX ASI closed at 45,890.52 points, to reflect a growth of 1.01% from the previous trading day and a Year-to-Date (YTD) return of 7.43%.

Meanwhile, the market capitalization increased by N248.04 billion. At the close of market on Thursday 20th January 2022, the stock exchange market value currently stands at N24.72 trillion from N24.48 trillion in the previous trading day.

The market breadth closed positive as NNFM led 27 gainers, and 9 losers topped by DANGSUGAR at the end of today’s session. The stock market has advanced 3,174.08 base points since the start of the year.

Market sentiments trend towards the bulls with the market differential being in favour of the advancers as 27 gainers surpassed 9 losers.
