Troubled days might just be over as Nigeria e-Commerce platform, Payporte starts a new online fashion store, months after the business shut down.

This comeback is happening barely days before Big Brother Naija season 4 is scheduled to commence as Bet9ja replaces it as the official sponsor of the reality Show.

“We are excited about our newly redesigned website, which is far more improved than the updated version of the old site released last year. We took a lot of customers’ feedback into our business strategy and this led us to take certain strategic decisions including suspending the old site to effectively redesign a new one from scratch for improved shopping experiences for our customers.” – Payporte

The E-commerce fashion website had closed down shortly after a series of drama it was involved in last year. One of which was the allegations levied against the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Eyo Bassey, by former staff of owing them salaries.

The uncertainty surrounding the affairs of the company doubled when news broke out that it had gone bankrupt after sponsoring the season 3 edition of the television show, Big Brother Naija: Double Wahala.

Payporte also had a clash with Comedian DeeOne, Big Brother Naija 2018 contestant who called them out to pay up the ticket fees he sold. However, in response, the company said they didn’t owe him anything because they thought the tickets were gifts having sponsored the show that brought DeeOne to the limelight.

While it may look as though these issues crippled the store into shutting down, According to Bassey, the site closed down as a result of strategic decisions taken to improve the website.

Following the re-branding of the website, the Payporte CEO stated that the new website has gone live. Also, the store has partnered with top fashion brands in the world to stock new products in order to give the customers the best.

“We believe the new site will offer greater shopping experience to our customers as we continue to provide them with top quality products that meet their fashion and lifestyle needs.”
