In actual parlance, she is actually a medical doctor. Yes, a trained and qualified medical doctor but just as several paths leads to the market, this pretty lady took the road less taken and made a huge difference.

Born into the family of Chief and Mrs Oladipo Jadesimi, Dr Amy had her education in the United Kingdom. Dr Amy Jadesimi is the current managing Director of  Lagos Deep Offshore Logistic Base(LADOL).

She obtained her first degree in Physiological Science from the world-renowned University of Oxford before going ahead to enroll in the same university for a degree in Medicine and Surgery. Perhaps, she must have enjoyed the corporate world from her father’s businesses as her first job out of med-school was with the prestigious Goldman Sachs as an investment banker specializing in mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance. From there she had an internship at another financial firm specialized in private equity in South Africa before ultimately enrolling at the Stanford University for an MBA.

After this, she returned to Nigeria and set up a financial consulting firm before joining the management team of LILE, an oil services company, and then LADOL to join the Board of LADOL first as the Chief Financial Officer and the deputy Chief Executive Officer. These positions she held for 5 years until 2009 when she was made the Managing Director of the Company.

Under the leadership of Dr Amy,the company has witnessed a large growth in infrastructural development as  LADOL is the only 100 per cent indigenous oil and gas fabrication and multi-logistics services base in Nigeria. LADOL operates a $500 million industrial village and Free Zone that delivers multi-logistics services and offshore drilling support to maritime and international oil companies operating in the upstream sector of the Nigerian economy.

LADOL has a current $300m Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading(FPSO) project which is expected to create one of the largest FPSO facilities in the world, with a targeted production capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, will be Africa’s only FPSO facility and is expected to create 50,000 direct and indirect jobs in Nigeria. The facility is managed in partnership with Samsung

Also, under her leadership, LADOL has embarked on the construction of a dry dock that will be the largest in West Africa and attract as many as 100,000 direct and indirect jobs. Other ongoing infrastructure projects in LADOL include, a technical training academy, the construction of a new 24 megawatts gas power plant set to commence in late 2017 and the construction of a passenger terminal with an emergency response facility and capacity to accommodate 1000 passengers, scheduled to be completed also in 2017.

She regards herself as a hardworking person who believes that everything can be achieved through hard work and integrity and these have made her stand out. Among her many accolades include, being listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes magazine in 2014 and she was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2013. She also holds a fellowship to the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Academy.

Dr Amy is single and enjoys running at her spare time and she has once taken up boxing training to keep fit.
