Governor of Adamawa State, Jibrilla Bindow, has said that Nigerians should be thankful to President Muhammadu Buhari. He said this at the 20th anniversary celebration of Gombe State. However, given the current economic crisis, many will be wondering why President Buhari deserves commendation.
According to Bindow, though, Nigerians should be grateful to President Buhari for significantly reducing the threat of Boko Haram in the state and the North-East region as a whole.
“Our President deserves commendation for his military exploits in fighting the insurgents. “Our President deserves commendation for his military exploits in fighting the insurgents.” Bindow said according to Daily Post.
The Governor also commended Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State for taking the state to greater height within a short time of his stewardship.
According to him, the swift action President Buhari took on the situation is what is responsible for the relative peace enjoyed in the region. However, recognizing that as a President, Buhari is expected as part of his duties to ensure peace, may not make Nigerians so thankful any way.
