The controversy surrounding the alleged forged UTME result of Mmesoma has been resolved, as an Independent Committee of the Anambra State Government set up a panel to investigate the UTME result of Ejikeme Mmesoma who said her result is fake.
According to the independent panel investigation, Mmesoma admitted she manipulated the fake results by herself using her phone.
To get more clarity as regards this, Nairametrics did some findings as to how Mmesoma was able to forge her JAMB result:
Wrong Exam Centre name
According to the independent panel, Mmesoma had used an old name of the exam centre where she wrote her exams.
The owner of the Computer Based Test Center said that the correct name of the centre is Nkemefuna Foundation (Thomas Chidoka Centre for Human Development) but on the fake result, Mmesoma displayed, the exam centre’s name is Thomas Chidoka Centre for Human Development.
Old Result Format
In an interview, JAMB Spokesman Fabian Benjamin said that the last time JAMB used the result notification – which Mmesoma had presented as her result slip – was in 2021 when a previous candidate had sued the exam body.
The Spokesman said JAMB changed the result format because it was easy for candidates to forge their results.
The difference in Date of Birth
The independent panel had said that the date of birth and registration number showing on Mmesoma’s fake result was different from what was in JAMB’s portal.
In a tweet via its official Twitter handle, JAMB indicated that Mmesoma is 19 years of age as against the narrative that she is 16 years old.
The independent panel also said Mmesoma admitted to having manipulated the result herself, as she proceeded to a cybercafé (Prisca Global Computers, Uruagu, Nnewi) to print the fake result.
Back Story
Recall that Nairametrics reported that JAMB had accused Ejikeme Mmesoma of manually inflating her score from 249 to 362 and parading herself as the top scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This controversy had caused widespread reactions as the exam body had also barred Ejikeme Mmesoma from sitting the Board’s examination for the next three years.
The House of Representatives had also intervened as members of the lower chamber expressed concerns that JAMB acted in an unprofessional manner in a matter involving a minor by withdrawing the candidate’s result and banning her for 3 years.
What You Should Know
Mmesoma had in a viral video dismissed allegations that she manipulated her 2023 UTME result, saying that she printed her result from the JAMB portal.
The student, who insisted that her aggregate score is 362, said the allegation has left her “‘traumatized,” adding that she cannot forge her result.
She said that since nursery school, she has been taking first, noting that she is not an illiterate girl that will go and forge her result. She pointed out that she even scored over 300 in her common entrance exam.
Jamb need to send a strong message to prohibit this kind of behavior and Innoson must be willing to assist the appropriate authority with relevant information in bringing her to Justice, there is no backing out now. We need to see Justice done! Thank god she is old enough to be in an adult prison.
I really commend the Jamb Institutions for proving to Nigerians that the work given to them, they are capable, may Good God never ceases in blessing them IN JESUS NAME AMEN..As for the the culprit the Institutions should forgive her let her know that she is too small for the Institutions to be wasting their hard-earned time with that she should go and be convincing her types to sin-no-more .
That girl is good after all. If am the one I will not reveal it. And since I forge it myself I will write that I score the while 400. Let government honour that honest girl.
How did we get here as a people, we eagerly support and promote evil, how can the evil ones amongst us learn that there consequences for our actions. The other day it was “the happy boys” dancing on duty and were fired by their employer, next came scholarship to Cyprus. Now is a die hard criminal at a young age of 19 and here are multiple scholarship for her. If I may ask is it for a job welldone or it is politics? Because she threw this country into a pandemonium for some weeks now and she stuck to her guns. Even the J A M B registrar was asked to resign, the father has not spoken as though a crime of such magnitude was committed by Mmesoma .If she can do this at this age when she becomes older what next will she do? When has cause and effect been removed , when has justice and discipline become wickedness why must this be used to get back at our collective failure of being able to screen aspirants before elections, what lesson is there for other children, should they also falsify their results to gain quick national recognition and scholarships. Even the true highest scorer is not being talked about but the theif is making rounds on the media . Pls my fellow citizens of this great nation let’s do our best by encouraging sound morals and judgement and always lend our support to what is good for our society. As for the Mmesoma in question she should serve the punishment for her crime and be handed over to the appropriate body for counseling because she confessed she is solo to the crime, she was not aided by anyone. They should find out from her what led to the crime ,
that will help her counselors a great deal.
Yes! Because imagine if we never found out, this would have a been a very sophisticated scam. Imagine if the company that offered this scholarship wasn’t Innoson Automobile Company, may be the media would never have reported it. Imagine if it was her local church that gave the scholarship. These imaginations are not so far from reality. Innoson Automobile company issued a statement stating that the criminal behavior of Mmesoma is against the values of the companies, which I have no reason to doubt that, but they must prove it by making official report to the appropriate authorities for prosecution. The development of this news got to almost every ear that has a phone in Nigeria including the House of Reps, apology won’t cut it.
