Investors lose N713 billion in Nigerian Stock Exchange, Bargain hunting in stock market

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Monday’s trading session in negative territory. The All-Share Index closed at 27,089.84 basis points, down 0.21%.

Top Gainers: UAC Nigeria Plc was the best-performing stock today. The stock gained 9.09% to close at N6.6. Seplat Plc gained 7.12% to close at N426. FBN Holdings Plc gained 6.90% to close at N4.65. PZ Cussons Plc also gained 5.36% to close at N5.9. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc rounded off the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 1.34% to close at N26.5.

Top Losers: On the flip side, Nestle Nigeria Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 5.73% to close at N1136. Oando Plc fell by 4.63% to close at N3.91. Dangote Sugar Plc fell by 2.86% to close at N8.5. Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc fell by 2.70% to close at N36. Access Bank Plc  rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 1.45% to close at N6.8.

Top Trades by Volume: Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was the most actively-traded stock today. 128.4 million shares valued at N3.3 billion were traded in 150 deals. FBN Holdings Plc was next with 41.8 million shares valued at N183.5 million traded in 274 deals, followed by Transnational Corp of Nigeria Plc with 32.85 million shares valued at N32.89 million traded in 68 deals.

Access Bank Plc was next with 23.8 million shares valued at N162.6 million traded in 341 deals. UAC Nigeria Plc rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks today with 10.6 million shares valued at N69.7 million traded in 225 deals.
