Speaking after the presentation of the star prizes, Access Bank‘s Executive Director, Retail Banking, Victor Etuokwu, said the benefits Access Bank derive from the scheme is the joy on customers’ faces when they receive their prizes.

“This is the 11th edition and the product has been rewarding Nigerians. It is something that we think it is important as every little thing you do help. There is no way a bank can add value to the economy if it does not do things like this, so the products of a bank must add value and DiamondXtra adds value,” Etuokwu said.

Meanwhile, the Head, Product Insights and Capability, Access Bank, Rob Giles, said;

“Our business is all about customers and our success is also the success of our customers. As our customers grow, we grow as well and so we have helped millions of people to save with DiamondXtra in the last 10 years and we are still doing that as regards this year which is the 11th edition.

“So we have been creating magic moments for people and by doing that, it helps Access Bank because people want to continue to save with us and patronize Access Bank,” Giles said.

Note that the first quarterly draw for DiamondXtra Season 11 took place on May 17, 2019. It saw the emergence of 1,016 customers winners in different prize slots. The draw is open to only DiamondXtra account holders.

About DiamondXtra draw: The DiamondXtra draw was periodically organised by Diamond Bank Plc before the Nigerian lender merged with Access Bank Plc to form Sub-Saharan Africa’s biggest financial institution by customer base.

DiamondXtra is an interest yielding hybrid account which allows deposit of both cash and third party cheques. Hybrid means a combination of both savings and current account features. The DiamondXtra reward scheme was launched in 2008 and has been running till date. Over 5,000 customers have been rewarded with various cash prizes in the last 10 Seasons/years.

The Merger and the DiamondXtra draw: There were claims that the consolidation of Access Bank and Diamond Bank would end the DiamondXtra draw. Reacting to this, the then Head of Consumer Liability Products at Diamond Bank, Osita Ede, doused the fears. He reassured customers of Access Bank‘s commitment to further the scheme by even introducing Access Bank‘s customers to DiamondXtra.

    You sent me a text on the first of May 2019, that I have qualified for the Diamond Xtra quarterly draw for May.
    That is all I keep reading. Why don’t I emerge a winner all this years, or even obtain a loan.All this years I have been a customer? Or is it one of this Nigerian thing? That what people keep saying.
    I am really downcast ed and disappointed.
