Access Bank Customers will be introduced to the DiamondXtra scheme after the completion of the consolidation of Diamond Bank and Access Bank, the Head of Consumer Liability Products, Diamond Bank, Osita Ede reportedly said.

Ede disclosed this while dousing the fear that the DiamondXtra scheme might be changed or laid to rest after the consolidation. While speaking on the ongoing DiamondXtra Season 10 promo and upcoming DiamondXtra Season 11 promo of the bank, Ede assured customers of the lender’s commitment to further the scheme.

Access Bank and Diamond Bank are currently in the process of consolidation, a move that will position the lenders as the largest banks in Nigeria and Africa.

“Existing DiamondXtra customers have nothing to worry about as the reward scheme is not changing and winners will continue being paid while new winners will continue to emerge. In fact, with the merger with Access bank, DiamondXtra will become bigger and better as the scheme will also be opened to Access Bank customers.”

DiamondXtra scheme

DiamondXtra is an interest yielding hybrid account which allows deposit of both cash and third party cheques. Hybrid means a combination of both savings and current account features. DiamondXtra reward scheme was launched in 2008 and has been running till date. Over 4,500 customers were rewarded with various cash prizes in the last 10 Seasons/years, and over N4 billion has been given away in cash and gift items.

Benefit of DiamondXtra scheme

Ede said the enormous opportunity the scheme offer average Nigerian makes it a special product. The scheme encourages them to save by rewarding them for saving, and over N400 million have been won every season of the campaign.

“With a minimum of N5,000 in their accounts, customers stand a chance of winning Salary4Life, brand new car, education allowance for five years, rent for a year, N1m and other cash prizes in the monthly and quarterly draws.

“Customers that win Salary4Life earn N100,000 every month for the next 20 years. ‘DiamondXtra reward scheme won the most innovative promo award from National lottery Regulatory Commission in 2015.”

How to be a part of the scheme

With over 15,000 customers rewarded with N5 billion in the scheme’s 10th season, Ede urged customers who are yet to benefit from the DiamondXtra scheme to increase their account balance to enable them qualify for the monthly or quarterly draw. Existing customers were advised to increase balance with at least N5,000 till the draw date, while new customers should open a DiamondXtra account with a minimum of N5,000 and increase their balance with a minimum of N5,000 before the draw date.

Meanwhile, three cars had been given out and N18 million education allowance had been given to three winners among others, with 4,946 customers already rewarded with N408 million in Season 10, and 130 millionaires had emerged according to Ede.
