Dealers of Telecom Satellite TV popularly called TSTV under the umbrella on the TSTV Super dealers have staged a peaceful protest to the headquarters of TSTV in Abuja. The dealers are demanding a refund of their investment which was put at over N1 billion for the procurement of TSTV decoders and other accessories since last year October and is yet to be delivered.
The dealers who accused the Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed and the CEO of TSTV Bright Echefu, of deceit and fraud.
In a message sent to Nairametrics the TSTV super dealers appealed to anti-graft agency to help in recovering their hard-earned money.
“When tstv lunched her operations last year October with the aids of minister of information Lai Muhammad a lot of us took up their dealership with N13.6 million each being payments for decoder and accessories with vouchers.”
“But as we speak not a single decoder has be given to the dealers and several failed promises and deceit by bright Echefu CEO since last year October. We have to speak out and let the whole country knows what we are going through more so tstv is still collecting money from innocent Nigeria.”
Recall that the birth of TSTV, an indigenous Pay TV was greeted with high hopes and expectation by many Nigerians. Predicted to challenge the major players in the Pay-TV market in Nigeria. During dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company, Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed had announced that the Federal Government has granted a 3-year tax relief to the company.
Ernest Essien, Public Relations Officer had last year assured customers of plans by TSTV to roll out its commercial decoders a week after the successful test run of its promo decoders distributed.
Nairametrics in an earlier article had doubted the sincerity of the platform. The mouth watering deals promised subscribers include, a 70 premium channels model with the cheapest pay-TV in Africa with maximum subscription fee of N3,000 only, a VR (Personal Video Recorder) Decoder which will allow viewers greater control over their viewing experience with functions like pause, rewind, forward, save and record of program of interest, also subscribers to TStv will also get complimentary internet service, enabled Wi-Fi, as well as video calls and video conferencing services.
Innocent Nigerians were scammed of over 1 billion naira, this was made possible by Alhaji Lai Muhammad endorsement of tstv and given them 3 years tax holidays. What else will innocent Nigeria look for in going into business.? https://t.co/oSYUzpT7Bn

Nigerians are still waiting for TSTV decoder
Nigerians on social media have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the continued delay in the distribution of TSTV decoders to expectant customers.
My friend works there. Hasnt been paid since April. The went to work one morning to find the whole place deserted after sacking more than 80% of them and still oweing them 4 months salary.

TSTV promised you people they will distribute 1m decoders in first 3 months. Landing cost of each was 28,000. So N28b worth of equipment. You didn't wonder how that could ever be possible? 1m units? N28b? And you went to give them your money? You didn't need that money. Simple.

"TSTV is our own."
Because they promised to show cheap foreign football without acquiring the rights to do so.
It is amazing how perfectly rational people can make up completely irrational & shamelessly hypocritical reasons to believe what they DESPERATELY want to believe. SMH.

I tried to resist the temptation to say this but I couldn't so here goes:
If you EVER believed TSTV could ever deliver on their proposition, then your entire education was a waste of money & time. It failed to equip you to ask basic questions so what was the point of it?
