NESG To Hold Economic Summit October 10-12

The National Economic Summit Group has planned the 22nd edition of the National Economic Summit, billed to hold on October 10-12, 2016 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The Summit is a Public Private dialogue process esteemed by both government and private sector and sessions in this year’s edition have been planned around key sectors such as agriculture, power, ICT, manufacturing, creative industries.

The program’s organizers say that the summit, whose theme is ‘Made in Nigeria’ will focus around sharpening the discourse of developing and patronizing local goods by bringing relevant stake holders to a round-table, which organizers believe is key if the country is to be able to diversify from its oil dependency to multi-sector revenue generation.

In addition, central to this year’s theme will be brainstorming on ideas on how Nigerians as investors can pull the economy out of its current slump. For example, deliberations on the role of government as policy formulators who provide an enabling environment shall be discussed.

NESG has been known for promoting key economic issues, connecting stakeholders and championing interventions to boost the Nigerian economy. The organization was in the forefront in discussions during the adoption of the Pension scheme and the revamping of the telecoms industry and this year’s summit is also being planned to develop milestone achievements.
