The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended this week’s trading session on a positive note. The All-Share Index appreciated by 0.86% to close the week at 31,037.72 basis points. Year to date, the index however remains in the red, down 18.84%.

52 equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than 4 in the previous week. 18 equities depreciated in price, lower than 23 of the previous week, while 94 equities remained unchanged, lower than 97 equities recorded in the preceding week.

Diamond Bank Plc 

Diamond Bank Plc was the best performing stock for the second week in a row. The stock gained 32.67% to close at N1.99. Year to date, the stock is up 32.67%.

Niger Insurance Plc

The company commenced operations in Nigeria on December 9, 1949 under the name of National Cash Register Company (West Africa) Limited. It was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on May 30, 1979. The company adopted its present name of NCR (Nigeria) Plc in 1996.

The company is into the sales and servicing of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), self service kiosks and Point of Sale terminals with peripherals, as well as software application that can be used by consumers to enable them interact with businesses from their computers or mobile devices.

FBN Holdings Plc

FBN Holdings opened at N7.90 and closed at N7.55, down N0.35 or 4.43%. Year to date, the stock is down 14.20%.

Access Bank Plc

Access Bank rounds up the top 10 losers for the week. The stock opened at N7.05 and closed at N6.80, down N0.25 or 3.55%. Year to date, the stock is down 34.93% and is trading at a new year low.
