Top hotels, resorts in Lagos and Abuja fully booked for Christmas and New Year

The Christmas and New Year holidays are usually regarded as the best season by Christians and even most non-faithful and as such people look forward to it because people get time to travel to be with loved ones, spending time with family, exchanging gifts, visiting hotels and relaxation spots and so on.

After a long year of hard work, it is wise and not out of place to give yourself a deserved treat in any of the top hotels or resorts in Lagos or Abuja for maximum enjoyment.

A check by Nairametrics reveals that hotels and resort spots have been in very high demand during the Christmas and New Year period especially in Lagos with the occupancy rates in most of the top hotels hitting 100%.

This is despite the outbreak of a fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic which has been exacerbated by the new Omicron variant.

For those who desire to spend their yuletide season in Lagos, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria, and Abuja, the administrative capital of the country, here is a list of some top hotels and resorts in both cities and their level of occupancy.

LAGOS

Eko Hotel and Suites: The 5-star hotel which is located in the heart of Victoria Island with services that meet the highest international standard and overlooking the new Eko Atlantic City and Atlantic Ocean had 100% occupancy rate and is fully booked until December 28, 2021.

The Lagos Continental Hotel: The 5-Star hotel lying in the popular high-brow area of Lagos, at Plot 52, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, offering 358 luxury and tastily furnished rooms, had 100% occupancy and was fully booked until December 27, 2021.

The Wheatbaker Hotel: The 5-star hotel which is located in the residential heart of Ikoyi with top lifestyle and luxury accommodation had 100% occupancy rate and is fully booked until December 27, 2021.

Radisson Hotel Ikeja: The luxury hotel which is centrally located in Ikeja’s Government Reservation Area (GRA), with 94 modern rooms and suites, has 100% occupancy and is fully booked until December 30.

Federal Palace Hotel and Casino: The 5-star luxury hotel with 150-rooms that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is located in the commercial hub of Victoria Island in Lagos, has 100% occupancy and is fully booked until January 5, 2022.

Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Lagos: The modern hotel sits on the banks of the upscale Victoria Island in beautiful Lagos Lagoon, has 100% occupancy and is fully booked until January 1, 2022.

Southern Sun Ikoyi: The 4-star hotel Lagos is an excellent accommodation comprising 195 modern rooms situated in Ikoyi area of Lagos. The hotel has 100% occupancy and is fully booked until December 29, 2021.

Ibis Hotel Ikeja: The hotel which is a 165 room 3-star and is located at Toyin Street Ikeja, still has some rooms available for occupation.

La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort: The resort which is designed with a serene and beautiful environment where you can get a feel of the nice warm weather, is built around the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by Ikegun Lake. It has comfortable accommodation with 29 well-equipped chalets, Luxury tents, Private swimming pool and the perfect beach for picnics. The resort has 100% occupancy and is fully booked until January 4, 2022.

Barracuda Beach and Resort: This facility offers all the leading amenities of a full-service resort without the resort fees and is designed as an epitome of warmth, comfort, fun and pleasurable experiences where tourists, visitors, vacationers and leisure travellers can stay overnight, dine and enjoy the breathtaking view of the clear Atlantic Ocean. It is fully booked until December 29.

Inagbe Grand Resort: This is an island resort that offers more than just sun, sand and sea!. It is a beautiful serene centre of relaxation. It is fully booked and its availability appears uncertain.

ABUJA

However, on the flip side, the occupancy rate of hotels in Abuja appears lower than that of Lagos as these hotels have rooms available and are even offering discounts to encourage patronage during the yuletide season.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja: The 5-star luxury hotel with 667 guest rooms and suite is at the heart of Federal Capital Territory, has some rooms available and is offering some discounts.

Sheraton Abuja Hotel: The top hotel is located in the heart of Abuja, Nigeria, standing as a landmark welcoming visitors with friendly, professional staff and thoughtful amenities. It has rooms available at heavily discounted rates due to the festive occasion,

Nordic Hotel Abuja: It is a top-rated and award-winning luxury hotel. It is a high-end boutique hotel in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja and features 46 guest rooms and suites and consists of three separate buildings. It has rooms available at promotional rates of 10% and 15% discount.

Nicon Luxury Hotel: The hotel, which is located at the heart of Abuja, has rooms available at 50% discount.
