Joe Onwubuya is the Chief Executive Officer of Cyberspace Network Limited, one of Nigeria’s early internet service providers with a long-standing presence in the broadband market.
The company was founded in 1995 by Jim Ovia as part of the Cyberspace Group and began by providing digital dial-up services before evolving into a provider of connectivity, cybersecurity, enterprise networking, and cloud solutions.
Onwubuya has led the company since 1996, bringing nearly three decades of experience in ICT strategy, network deployment, and enterprise connectivity.
Onwubuya holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos. He has also completed executive programmes at Lagos Business School and recently undertook professional education in Applied Data Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Before becoming Managing Director in 2019, he served in various leadership roles within the company, including Executive Director, contributing to its operational and strategic development over the years.
