Khalil Halilu, NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, explained the broader economic benefits of the collaboration, stating,

“We are transforming the Agency by making it a central player in Nigeria’s technology revolution by adopting, adapting, and domesticating cutting-edge technologies. At NASENI, we are building a national brand going forward; every household in Nigeria will have one NASENI product or the other.”

This collaboration aligns with the federal government’s emphasis on local content development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s technology sector.

“The devices are designed to cater to a wide range of users, including students and professionals seeking reliable computing solutions,” the statement read in parts.

Reducing import dependency

Highlighting NASENI’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s tech industry, Halilu noted that this partnership aligns with NASENI’s 3Cs principles Collaboration, Creation, and Commercialization.

“This is a strategic move which aligns with the Agency’s 3Cs principles of Collaboration, Creation, and Commercialization to work with like minds. This is why we are working with Imose Technologies to bridge the technological gap by reducing importation bills,” Halilu added.

Osayi Izedonmwen, Chairman of Imose Technologies, expressed pride in the collaboration, reflecting the company’s dedication to addressing uniquely Nigerian challenges.

“For ten years, we have had a relentless focus on solving uniquely Nigerian problems by championing the local manufacturing of mobile and computer devices to improve lives and transform local institutions,” said Izedonmwen.

He continued, “We are proud that NASENI has chosen to partner with us for the domestic production of laptops to bridge the digital divide and improve access to technology for education and work.”

By manufacturing these devices locally, NASENI and Imose Technologies are not only fostering job creation but also reinforcing Nigeria’s technological self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on imported electronics.
