Twitter has updated its features on its Spaces to now allow users to record their sessions during a meeting.

This update which is to a great extent a Clubhouse rival is now made available for all Twitter users on IOS and Android and in addition, saves the meeting on the platform for 30 days.

Before the Space starts, the host would see an option to record Space. The host may choose not to record, however, if the host decides to record the session, all users that are in the meeting would see an icon on top of the Space, indicating that it is being recorded.

In addition to listening to a Space session recording after the meeting has ended, users can also share the recording to their timelines for any interested person to listen to.

What you need to know

In 2021, Twitter created Spaces to allow users to have meetings on the platform and it was made available to only Twitter users with 600 followers or more.

The new update like most features on the app is very straightforward. To record Twitter Spaces, the host would need to click on the record space icon. This would launch a new Space session. Interested participants can then enter the space. If the Space is being recorded before the participants enter, they would see a recording icon indicating that the space is being recorded.

Hosts can after the space meeting have the recording for 30 days. they may delete the recording anytime they wish but Twitter would still keep a data of it for 30-120 days in order to go through the file and be sure there’s no abusive or harmful content. Listeners can playback, fast forward or pause the space recording directly from their timelines and share Space recording from others as well.
