In a bid to attract Foreign Investment to Nigeria and boost economic diversification, the Federal Government through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), has established a partnership with Pakistani investors.

This was disclosed in a statement CAC Head of Media, Rasheed Made on Sunday in Abuja, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

He stated that the CAC has also provided a platform to acquaint Pakistani investors with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020).

What the CAC is saying

According to the statement, the CAC Registrar-General, Alhaji Garba Abubakar stated that CAC is committed to intensifying efforts to help Nigeria pursue economic diversification and woo foreign investors.

He said, “In pursuance of the national economic objectives, CAC, on the invitation of the Pakistan High Commission in Nigeria, actively participated at the just concluded 2nd Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference & Single Country Exhibition held in Lagos.

“The 3-day event, which was declared open by the Lagos  State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu had in attendance the Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Nigeria, NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Moji Adeyeye and members of the diplomatic corps amongst others.”

The CAC added that the Pakistani Business Community was also at the event, which drew over 100 exhibitors.

The event is aimed at unveiling to the Pakistani business community the huge investment opportunities in Nigeria to enable them to leverage on, and to also exhibit their products and services. 30 exhibitors, however, indicated their interest to set up companies in Nigeria after interacting with the CAC officials.

Nairametrics reported in October that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has assured Nigerians of its commitment to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

Registrar General/CEO of CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar described CAC as the gateway to any foreign or local investment and expressed the commission’s readiness to provide services at the event to facilitate Nigeria’s dire need for industrialisation as well as its support to the organisers in accordance with provisions of the law.
