A 21-storey building, still under construction has collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.
The unfortunate incident happened on Monday, November 1 on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.
It is not yet known the rate of casualty, but images of the incident that has flooded social media show rubbles destroying cars and other things around the building.
Social media sources claim
Even though Nairametrics is yet to confirm, social media sources claim several people are trapped under the rubbles.
The spokesperson for the LASEMA, Nosa Okunbo, who confirmed the collapse, said a high rise building collapsed by Musliu Junction, Ikoyi, pointing out that LASEMA is on top of the situation.

Also, the Director-General of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said, “Collapsed Building at Gerard Road, Ikoyi: The agency has activated its emergency response plan to the above incident.
“All first responders are en route to secure the scene while the heavy-duty equipment and life detection equipment have been dispatched.”
