The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, has announced that 911,258 Nigerians have so far received their first shot of the Moderna vaccines.
This was disclosed in a social media post by the NPHCDA on the evening of Sunday, September 5th, 2021. The agency also added that 123,500 second shot of AstraZeneca vaccines have also been given to those eligible.
This means that Nigeria so far used 45.5% of its proportion of Moderna vaccines and 17.6% of its second batch of AstraZeneca vaccines.
“911,258 eligible Nigerians have been vaccinated with the first dose of Moderna vaccine while 123,500 eligible Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose have collected their 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine,” the report stated.
Lagos State leads the Moderna vaccine drive as 137,862 have so far received their first shots. Oyo State follows with 62,662. The Federal Capital so far has vaccinated 17,629.
Meanwhile, with the second shot of AstraZeneca, Lagos also leads with 18,348, with Zamfara yet to give out a second dose.
