Forbes has estimated that Rihanna, the 9 times Grammy winner’s worth is now $1.7 billion, making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and second to Oprah as the richest entertainer.
Over the years, the singer has adopted an entrepreneurial lifestyle as she launched several lines under the Fenty Beauty brand. The Fenty Beauty brand was launched in 2017 to cater to the beauty needs of women everywhere and make them feel more “included.” This brand makes up the bulk of her fortune, to the tune of $1.4 billion, while the remainder comes from her stake in her lingerie company worth an estimated $270 million.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty, an A-list American pop star, actress and entrepreneur has worked hard to attain her current billionaire status.
“The majority of her $1.7 billion estimated net worth is not from singing but from cosmetics,” said Forbes editor, Kerry Dolan.
“Women are making more headway, slowly but surely as super-successful entrepreneurs. So, we will see more famous artists, entertainers, performers go into a successful entrepreneurial vein. It’s been a proven formula for some people so others would like to try it.” he added.
Earlier in the year, the celebrity closed down her Fenty fashion label after less than two years in production. The label was in collaboration with the LVMH brand, who also agreed the Fenty fashion line be put on hold pending better business conditions.
However, the Savage X Fenty lingerie line and cosmetics line have continued to progress. Her beauty lines have been greatly praised and embraced due to the focus on body positivity and inclusivity ranging across people with different body sizes and skin tones, which has been rather scarce in the beauty industry.
Rihanna joins the coveted Forbes list as one of Hollywood’s most successful female self-made entrepreneurs. Others are Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
Rihanna is known for her number one hit tracks like “Work,” “Umbrella” and “We Found Love.” In 2018, she also starred in the blockbuster movie, “Ocean’s 8.”
