President Muhammadu Buhari has said that it is in the interest of the youths to keep the peace in Nigeria to aid developments in the nation. He added that his generation is on its last lap in governance.
Buhari disclosed this in a State House meeting with Hajia Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Buhari said it is the interest of Nigeria’s youths to maintain peace as they want the jobs and environment to stimulate it. He added that he sent the Chief of Staff, Prof Gambari to hold meetings with traditional rulers in a bid to educate the youths.
“It is in the interest of the youths to keep the peace. They want jobs, infrastructure and development. I have sent a team led by the Chief of Staff to go round the country and talk to traditional rulers, who will then talk to the youths. The views of the youths have been heard,” Buhari said.

While reacting to events of the post-protests riots across the nation, the President said his generation is on its last lap.
“Our own generation is on the last lap, we are exiting,” he said.
Hajia Mohammed said her team is in Nigeria to discuss issues related to insecurity, COVID-19 and climate change in Nigeria.
