Access Bank, Global Spectrum, Zenith Bank lead most traded stocks on Wednesday

Access Bank Plc, Global Spectrum Energy Services Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, Transcorp and FBN Holdings Plc led the most actively traded stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday’s trading session.

Details: While Access Bank Plc led the chart with 20.7 million shares valued at N153 million traded in 151 deals, Global Spectrum Energy Services followed with 20 million shares valued at N94 million in 4 deals and Zenith Bank traded 14.8 million shares valued at N266.3 million in 304 deals.

Transnational Corp of Nigeria followed with 14.3 million shares valued at N14.6 million traded in 37 deals and FBN Holdings rounded off the top five most actively traded stocks with 10.8 million shares valued at N58.3 million traded in 112 deals.

Wednesday’s trading session ended in negative territory as the All-Share Index closed at 26,472.20 basis points, down by 0.16%.

Top Gainers:  Law Union & Rock Insurance Plc earned the best-performing stock, as it gained 9.09% to close at N0.48, followed by Livestock Feeds Plc gained 6.38% to close at N0.50. Cornerstone Insurance Plc gained 5% to close at N0.37, Dangote Flour Plc and Africa Prudential Plc gained 3.34% to close at N23.20, and 2.56% to close at N4 respectively.

Top Losers: WAPIC Insurance Plc was the worst-performing stock, dropped by 8.57% to close at N0.32. Chams Plc also fell by 8.33% to close at N0.22. Followed by Sterling Bank Plc, which dropped by 7.69% to close at N1.80, Lafarge Africa Plc also fell by 4.06% to close at N15.35 and Ecobank Transnational Inc rounded off the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 2.78% to close at N7.
