Cornerstone Insurance leads this week’s gainers as NSE closes on negative note

The Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) has resumed its negative run after a two-week break, ending this week on a negative note. This week, the All-Share Index closed at 27,146.57 basis points, with the week to date down by 1.38%. Year to date, the index is also down 13.63%.

27 equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than 25 equities that appreciated in the previous week. 34 equities depreciated in price this week, as against 35 equities in the previous week, while 105 equities remained unchanged this week, lower than 106 equities recorded in the preceding week.

Cornerstone Insurance Plc was the best-performing stock this week. The stock opened at N0.21 and closed at N0.27, up N0.06 or 28.6%.
