The Stock Market turns bearish for the third time this week

Investors lose N713 billion in Nigerian Stock Exchange, Bargain hunting in stock market

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Wednesday’s trading session in negative territory as the All Share Index closed at 28,286.08 basis points, down 0.48%. Year to date, the index is down 10%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Chams Plc was the best performing stock yesterday. The stock gained 9.09% to close at N0.36. ABC Transport Plc also gained 8.00% to close at N0.27. Thomas Wyatt Plc rounds up the top three gainers for Wednesday by gaining 7.41% to close at N0.29.

On the flip side, Wapic Insurance Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N0.36. Forte Oil Plc also fell by 9.87% to close at N31.50. Champion Breweries Plc rounds up the top three losers for the day. The stock shed 9.79% to close at N1.29.

Top Trades by Volume: Access Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock yesterday. 35.7 million shares valued at N241 million were traded in 133 deals.

UAC of Nigeria Plc was next with 21.5 million shares valued at N218 million traded in 223 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc rounds up the top three most actively traded stocks today with 17.4 million shares valued at N551 million traded in 260 deals.
