Sterling Bank Plc has disclosed the appointment of Mr. Femi Jaiyeola as the Chief Compliance Office. The appointment was announced via a notification letter sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
According to the information contained in the notification, the appointment has been confirmed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A look into Femi Jaiyeola’s profile – Femi Jaiyeola is a seasoned professional with over 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Prior to joining the Sterling Bank team in April 2019, Femi was a General Chief Compliance Officer at the now defunct Diamond Bank Plc.
Similarly, Femi was previously the Head of Audit, Nigeria and West Africa Cluster at Standard Chartered Bank. Highlights of his international experiences include six (6) years with UK Financial Service Industry as Vice President in Internal Audit, Internal Auditor in Citigroup and Barclays Bank.
Therefore, Femi brings to the Sterling team the knowledge, skills, and vast experience that he has garnered locally and internationally across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. His vast experience covers Risk Management, Banking Operations, Business Advisory, Internal Audit, External Audit, and Compliance.
More about Femi Jaiyeola – A look into Femi’s academic background shows that He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin and Master’s degree in Finance and Investment from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Femi is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Certified Information System Auditor, and a member of the Board of Audit Investigations and Forensic Accounting.
Sterling Bank confirmed four appointments so far in May – Nairametrics had earlier reported the appointments of three directors by the bank in May. Prior to Femi’s appointment, the bank had appointed Tunde Adeola and Raheem Owodeyi as Executive Directors, while Subbaramaiah Rajapur replaced Sujit Varma as its Non-Executive Director.
