All Share Index drops below 30,000 points today

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended the third trading session this week, in negative territory. The All Share Index closed at 29.668.73 basis points, down 1.85%, Year to date, the index is down 5.61%.

Top Gainers and Losers

Nigeria Breweries Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 5.45% to close at N60. Cornerstone Investment Plc also gained 5% to close at N0.21. Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc rounds up the top three gainers for today. The stock gained 4.55% to close at N0.23.
On the flip side, Access Bank Plc was the worst performing stock today. The stock declined by 10% to close at N5.85. Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc fell by 10% to close at 0.27. Aiico Plc rounds up the top three losers for the day. The stock shed 9.86% to close at N0.64

Top Trades by Volume

Sterling Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today.143 million shares valued at N347 million were traded in 72 deals. FCMB was next with 68 million shares valued at 218 million traded in 118 deals. FBN Holdings rounds up the top three most actively traded stocks today.55 million shares valued at N414 million were traded in 279 deals.
