The Board and Management of RT Briscoe Nigeria Plc, have announced the appointment  Messrs. PKF Professional Services as the company’s new Auditors.

In an announcement issued to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the general public at large, Briscoe disclosed that PKF’s appointment took effect from Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

PKF’s appointment filled the vacancy caused by the retirement of Briscoe’s former Auditors, KMPG Professional Services, which took effect from Friday, March 1, 2019.

What you should know about PKF

Formerly known as Pannell Kerr Forster, PKF Professional Services is an accountancy and business advisory firm.

The services provided by the firm include assurance and advisory, consultancy, corporate finance, corporate recovery and insolvency, forensic, and taxation.

The company also offers financial services through its PIA registered company, PKF Financial Planning Limited.

PKF serves sectors include: charities, hotel and leisure, medicals, professional partnerships, public sector, and technology and e-commerce operating from over 25 offices. The company was founded in 1869.

PKF’s role in Briscoe as an auditor

PKF will be engaged to render an opinion on whether Briscoe’s financial statements are presented fairly, in all material respects, in accordance with the financial reporting framework.

In this regard, the audit provides lenders and investors with an enhanced degree of confidence in the financial statements. An audit conducted in accordance with relevant ethical requirements will enable PKF to form that opinion.

To form the opinion, PKF in the course of its duty will gather appropriate and sufficient evidence and observes, tests, compares and confirms until gaining reasonable assurance. The auditor then will form an opinion of whether the financial statements are free of material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.

R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc was incorporated in Nigeria as a limited liability company on 9 March 1957 and became a public limited liability company in 1973.

The Group is primarily engaged in the sales and servicing of Toyota and Ford motor vehicles, technical equipment, including forklifts, industrial compressors, mining and drilling equipment and generating sets, facility management, property development and leasing of property.
