The management of FCMB Group Plc has announced the retirement of Mr Bismarck Rewane from its Board of Directors. The retirement was confirmed at the Board’s meeting held on Friday, March 8th.
According to a statement sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, yesterday, FCMB Group said Mr Rewane’s services and contributions are highly appreciated.
“FCMB Group Plc hereby announces the retirement of Mr. Bismarck Rewane from the Board of the Company. This follows the acceptance of his retirement by the Board, at the Board of Directors’ meeting held on Friday, March 8, 2019.
“The Board and Management of FCMB Group Plc appreciate his valuable contributions and for always being available whenever called upon.”
Until his retirement, Mr Rewane served as a Non-Executive Director at at FCMB Bank (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of the FCMB Group Plc. He was appointed to the position in 2009.

Mr Rewane has more than 40 years of experience in the financial services sector where he has established himself as a notable figure.
He began his career in 1973 with Barclays Bank in the United. And then by 1975, he joined Barclays Bank of Nigeria.
By 1976, he had moved on to the First National Bank of Chicago in the United States of America, where he served as a Deputy Manager in charge of Credit.
He then joined the now defunct International Merchant Bank Nigeria Limited in 1981, where he held the position of
