MTN Nigeria and Microsoft Nigeria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see the provision of innovative solutions that is of global standard to Nigerian Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).
The signed MoU is aimed at projecting development for SMEs in the country, and will leverage Microsoft’s technologies and MTN’s expertise in the establishment of a valuable scheme for the SMEs segment.
Prior to the signed MoU between MTN Nigeria and Microsoft Nigera, Jaiz Bank, Wema Bank, and SunTrust Bank, in March, 2018, signed an MoU to secure a $50 million loan from Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) for lending to the SMEs.
In the same month, Wema Bank Plc signed a Line of Credit Agreement with the African Development Bank (AfDB) to financially support and grow the SMEs segment. The bank which pioneered Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT secured a $35 million from the international lenders.
Also, four Nigerians have benefitted from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and Alibaba Business School training in China for 29 young Africans from 11 countries in Africa. This training, according to Jack Ma, Alibaba founder, will flourish the SMEs segment of African countries and make their economies robust.
Microsoft is an American multinational technology company with headquarters in Redmond, Washington. It develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and services. Its well known manufactured software products include: Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, the Microsoft Office suite, and the Internet Explorer and Edge web browsers.
