The Chairman of Unilag Radio and TV, Professor Ralph Akinfeleye has disclosed that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has issued an operational TV broadcast license to the University of Lagos, Akoka.
Akinfeleye said that the license was granted to the institution on November 9, he further announced that the TV station will be commissioned on Saturday, November 11 at the Department of Mass Communication of the university.
This will not be the first achievement by UNILAG, in the area of broadcasting,in 2002, a radio broadcast license was was granted ,twenty years after the University applied for one.
The frequency of 103.1FM was assigned to the University in July 2003 and the station was officially commissioned on the 14th of December, 2004 by former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
