The Coca-Cola Company this week, announced Kelvin Balogun as President of the newly established South &East Africa Business Unit, to take effect in August 1 2016.
Kelvin Balogun, has a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife.
He started his career as a business analyst at Accenture in 1989 in Lagos, rendering progressive leadership of major strategy, process re-engineering and organization design engagements for Banking and Oil & Gas industry clients.
Balogun bagged an MBA from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University in Atlanta and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and the Logistics Strategy School at the Cranfield University in the UK.
He joined Coca-Cola in Oct 1999 as a Strategy Planning & Business Development Manager and in May 2008, he became the Strategy Director for Coca-Cola East & Central Africa Business Unit, covering 27 countries.
In 2011, he was appointed Managing Director for Coca-Cola Nigeria, a position he held until his role which he took up in 2013.
Balogun, excited about his new appointment, on Tuesday, stated,
“I’m excited by the opportunity to return home and help shape and drive the Coca-Cola business here.
“Nigeria is a strategic growth market; my colleagues and I will focus on strengthening the fundamentals of the business, deepening the bonds between our brands and our consumers and expanding our market leadership.”
Professionally Balogun has been a business leader with about 27 years experience in strategy consulting, sales & marketing, and general management.
