Are Bow Ties in Vogue for the White Collar Man?

For working class peeps like me, it is often a pleasure to see new fashion creep into our 9-5 dressing culture.

For those, especially in the Financial Services sectors who regularly spot ties, the tendency to adopt new fashion couture is quite rapid. Recently, I have noticed that guys at the management level of banks and other corporate institutions frequently spot bow ties at meetings, corporate events and even to work daily. The trend is gradually catching up with the middle officers and will probably filter to the lower levels of the industry as well.

Recall a couple of years back, slim ties, which I strongly despise was in vogue. You see folks wearing the same slim ties to weddings to work. But bow ties are quite a different class. They are classy and typically give men a nerdy look, even though some research indicates women don’t find them Sexxy.

For a bit of history though, bow ties were thought to have been invented by the Croatians during the prussian wars of the 17th Century. In Nigeria, you may not be wrong to think the CBN Governor, has a hand in making its way into mainstream corporate gear.
