LAGOS – CALABAR COASTAL HIGHWAY

The Federal Government plans to begin constructing train tracks on Section I of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in 2025. 
The Federal Government has announced plans to review the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project to reduce costs and scale down the lanes from 10 to six.  
The Federal Government has raised the compensation for property owners affected by Section 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, increasing the amount from an initial N8 billion to approximately N18 billion. 
The Federal Government has commenced stakeholder engagement on the 63-kilometer Ondo State segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.  
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has announced that the first section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is set to be completed by May 29, 2025, after which it will be tolled for 5 to 10 years to recover construction costs.
