President Muhammadu Buhari has received a briefing from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 at the State House in Abuja on Monday, June 29, 2020.
The task force was led by its Chairman, Boss Mustapha, who also doubles as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Others members of the PTF who met with the president today include the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, the Director-General, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekwazu, and the Coordinator of the PTF on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu.
The development was disclosed in a Twitter post that was issued earlier today from the official handle of the presidency.

According to the tweet, the team specifically briefed the president on the level of compliance by Nigerians to the rules and guidelines during the second phase of the lockdown. He was also briefed on the level of preparedness to move to the next phase.

President Buhari had announced the gradual easing of the first phase of the lockdown in Lagos State, Ogun State and Abuja on April 27. The lockdown was eased on May 4 to May 17 to a nationwide curfew of 8 pm to 6 am. The first phase of the lockdown was extended by another 2 weeks to June 1.
The second phase of the gradual easing of lockdown which was for an initial period of 4 weeks was for a period of 4 weeks from June 2 to June 29.
In the second phase, the federal government had removed restrictions on the movement of goods and services, retained nationwide curfew but the time was readjusted to between 10 pm and 4 am as against the initial curfew time of between 8 pm and 6 am.
