Lagos State government has appointed Dr. Victoria Egunjobi as the new Executive Secretary of the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), with effect from April 13, 2026.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement shared by the Lagos State Government on its official X page and conveyed through a letter signed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro.
Egunjobi succeeds Dr. Abiola Idowu, who was the previous Executive Secretary/Permanent Secretary of the Agency.
HEFAMAA is responsible for monitoring, regulating, and accrediting health facilities across Lagos State to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

The state government said the appointment is aimed at strengthening healthcare regulation and improving quality assurance across health facilities in Lagos.
- “I am pleased to convey the approval of Mr. Governor of your appointment as Executive Secretary, Health Facilities Monitoring & Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) with effect from 13th April, 2026,” the letter stated.
The Head of Service further noted that the State Government expects the appointee to demonstrate “a high level of dedication, diligence and selflessness in the discharge of your duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in you.”
Until her appointment, she served as Director of Disease Control at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, where she coordinated interventions on communicable and non-communicable diseases
Victoria Egunjobi’s career experience
Dr. Egunjobi is a Public Health Physician with over 20 years of experience in the Lagos State public service, spanning data management, malaria control, maternal and child health, family planning, and gender-based violence, with a strong focus on health systems strengthening.
She has been actively involved in the planning and implementation of large-scale health programmes, supporting the state government in improving maternal and child health outcomes through targeted interventions across public and private health facilities.
Over the years, she has held several key roles within the Ministry of Health, including Health Management Information System Officer, Knowledge Management Focal Person, Secretary of the Health Research Committee, Verification Officer for the State’s Births and Deaths Registry, and Medical Officer in the Planning Division.
She also served as Reproductive Health Coordinator, overseeing programmes such as safe motherhood, family planning, and responses to sexual and gender-based violence.

Egunjobi holds a B.Sc in Physiology, an MBBS, and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Lagos.
She also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Economics from the University of Aberdeen.
She is a member of the West African College of Physicians and an associate member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
