Berger Paints Nigeria Plc announces appointment of Mr. Adetomiwa as MD/CEO as Mr. Sircar retires

Berger Paints Plc has informed The Exchange, stakeholders, and the general investing public of a change in leadership.

According to the notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange and signed by the company’s secretary, Ayokunle Ayoko, the current Managing Director/CEO of Berger Paints Plc, Mr Anjan Sircar will be retiring from the Board in line with the Company’s retirement policy and on completion of his three-year tenure as MD/CEO.

The outgoing MD/CEO commenced his tenure in 2019 and having completed the designated three years for the position, will be stepping down this year to be succeeded by Mr Adeyemi Adetomiwa. The Board of the company, in the notice, appreciated Mr Sircar for his dedication and service to the company for the duration of his tenure.

Following his exit, Mr Adeyemi Adetomiwa, the Chief Operating Officer, will be replacing Mr Sircar as Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer effective from January 4, 2022.

What you should know about Adetomiwa

According to the disclosure, Mr Adeyemi Adetomiwa brings on board almost three decades of management experience in the manufacturing industry. In addition to this, he is a Certified Environmental Scientist (National Registry of Environmental Professionals, USA) and holds a B.Tech Degree in Chemistry from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho.

He joined the services of CAP Plc as an Assistant Production Manager in 2001 and worked in various capacities including Process Support Manager,  and Planning Manager, and Plant Manager. Between 2011 and 2018, he also served as the Technical Operations Manager (Acting), Quality Assurance Manager, Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Manager. He joined Berger Paints Nigeria Plc in 2019 as Chief Operating Officer.
