The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has reportedly slumped at an event held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The news of his slump was reported by various media sources on Thursday afternoon, citing that the EFCC boss was attending the National Identity Day celebration, when the episode happened.
Vanguard revealed that Bawa was talking about a man the commission arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, with 116 SIM cards when the incident happened.
Abdulrasheed Bawa’s, appointment as EFCC Chairman was confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on the 25th of February.
He graduated from the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics (Second Class Upper) in 2001, joined the EFCC as an Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) in 2004.
He also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy which he obtained from the same university in 2012.
He was also part of the pioneer EFCC Cadet Officers, course one, 2005, as he rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Chief Detective Superindent (DCDS), a position he has been holding since 2016 up till the time of his nomination as the anti-graft agency’s substantive chairman.
