Innoson Vehicles, indigenous automaker, may change its trademark logo if the company’s meeting with a student of University of Ibadan (UI), Farouq Osuolale, who designed the trending logo, is in favor of the young graphic designer..

Innoson had responded to the criticism that trailed its designs by asserting that, ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ and there’s room for more development and improvements. It also said its vehicles were designed based on the feedback received from its users and customers.

The response ushered in various design options which Nigerians urged the company to incorporate and change its existing logo. Innoson’s announcement on its Twitter account that the founder, Innocent Chukwuma, would meet with Farouq suggests that the company is open to the idea of adopting his design.

Battle against Innoson’s logo

Farouq was the second designer to submit his brand design through his Twitter handle, ‘@osuolale_farouq’ after Annabel Ojone. Ojone had reached out to Innoson on Twitter through her handle, @annie_perie. This prompted the company to request that its followers should ‘Like’ if they preferred Ojone’s new logo and ‘retweet’ if they preferred the current logo of Innoson.

Hello guys, let's settle this.

Ojone won the poll after pulling over 4000 ‘Likes’ and Innoson received over 1000 ‘Retweets’. After Farouq’s submission, Innoson held another poll urging its followers to ‘Retweet’ if they preferred his logo design and ‘Like’ if they wanted the company’s logo.

Farouq had over 29,000 ‘Retweets’ while Innoson recorded over 9000 ‘Likes’. Note that on Twitter, it’s easier to get ‘Likes’ than to get ‘Retweets’.

In response to the reactions generated by Farouq’s logo design, Innoson disclosed after the poll that, “Dear @osuolale_farouq, the attention of the Chairman/CEO of @innosonvehicles has been called upon on your creative re-design of IVM logo. The Chairman is highly impressed and has requested for a meeting with you.”

Reactions to the announcement

After disclosing that Innoson’s chairman wanted to meet Farouq for the re-designing of the company’s logo, Nigerians flooded to the page to comment.

They need to appreciate the guy. That tweet got over 25k rts. That’s basically the highest marketing Innoson must have gotten as a brand on social media. I’m sure Chief Chukwuma may train the guy and put him in his design team. Entrepreneur like him know talent when they see one.

Even if they don’t pay you, make sure you seal this deal. It’s huge to have on your resume. And yes, they should and will pay. But keep focus on the goal.

This is what I subscribed for. Contents that makes me smile..

Serious minded talented individuals be on the grind on twitter showcasing their talent most will be here chasing clout, savagery does not put food on the table. Beautiful logo but the way.
