Forte Oil’s share price dips as the Nigerian bourse closes bullish

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Thursday’s trading session in positive territory. The All Share Index closed at 29,749.35 basis points, up 0.47%.

Year to date, the index is down 5.35%.

Top Gainers: Cement Company Northern Nigeria Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 10% to close at N13.20. BOC Gases Plc gained 9.84% to close at N4.13. International Breweries Plc gained 9.58% to close at N18.30. Courteville Business Solutions Plc gained 8.70% to close at N0.25. Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc rounded up the top five gainers for today by gaining 8.33%, closing at N0.26.

Top Losers: Forte Oil Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 9.87% to close at N27.40. Berger Paints Plc followed with a 9.79% drop to close at N6.45. Nigerian Breweries Plc fell by 7.26% to close at N57.50. Sterling Bank Plc fell by 6.38% to close at N2.20. Transnational Corp of Nigeria Plc rounds up the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 4.39% to close at N1.09.

Top Trades by Volume: Transnational Corp of Nigeria was the most actively traded stock today. 45.9 million shares valued at N48.9 million were traded in 156 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 31.9 million shares valued at N978 million traded in 313 deals. Access Bank Plc was next with 31.7 shares valued at N210 million traded in 280 deals. FBN Holdings Plc was next with 28.7 million shares valued at N193 million traded in 279 deals. Zenith Bank Plc rounded up the top five most actively traded stocks today with 23.3 million shares valued at N468 million traded in 359 deals.
