The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Friday’s trading session in positive territory. The All Share Index closed at 29,851.29 basis points, up 0.29%.

Year to date, the index is down 5.02%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO) was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 10% to close at N11.55. Glaxo Smithkline Consumer Plc also gained 10% to close at N9.35. Cutix Plc gained 8.89% to close at N1.47. Law Union and Rock Insurance Plc gained 8.70% to close at N0.50. Thomas Wyatt Plc rounds up the top five gainers for today. The stock gained 8.11% to close at No.40.

On the flip side, Chams Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 8.82% to close at N0.31. Associated Bus Company Plc fell by 6.90% to close at N0.27. Sovereign Plc fell by 4.35% to close at N0.22. Fidelity Bank Plc fell by 8.89% to close at N1.73. African Prudential Plc rounds up the top five losers for the day. The stock shed 3.67% to close at N3.41.

Top Trades by Volume: Zenith Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 26.6 million shares valued at N592 million were traded in 401 deals. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 22.4 million shares valued at N700 million traded in 131 deals. Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO) was next with 14.7 million shares valued at N170 million traded in 39 deals. Access Bank Plc was next with 12.2 million shares valued at N84.3 million traded in 234 deals. MTN Nigeria Plc rounds up the top five most actively traded stocks today with 9.7 million shares valued at N1.2 billion traded in 128 deals.
