Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, a member of Standard Bank Group, has notified the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of new board appointments in one of its subsidiaries.
The company made new appointments to its board as well and also promoted some of its staff.
Johannes Kruger’s Biography: One of the new appointees is Mr Barend Johannes Kruger ho will function as a Non-Executive Director for Stanbic IBTC Bank. His appointment took effect from May 20, 2019.
Kruger had previously been appointed to the board of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC in January 2019. He is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Brief profile of Rabi Isma: Ms Rabi Isma as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the bank. Her appointment also took effect from May 9, 2019. Isma has extensive experience in the telecoms industry with 9Mobile and Etisalat Sri Lanka. She has previously worked for the British Council in Nigeria and served as special adviser to the Governor of Kano State.
She has multiple certifications and has attended several executive programmes, both at the Harvard and Michigan Ross Business Schools in the United States of America.
Profile of Bunmi Dayo-Olagunju: Mrs Bunmi Dayo-Olagunju was appointed Executive Director of Operations, for the Bank. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). She has over 20 years of hands-on experience in the financial services industry having worked in different capacities across the subsidiaries of Stanbic IBTC Group.
Before the appointment, she was the Deputy Head of Operations and also previously served as Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited.
Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC also promoted Mr Adekunle Adedeji to the position of Executive Director. His appointment took effect from Feb 22, 2019.
Brief profile of Adekunle Adedeji: Adedeji who is currently the Group’s Chief Financial Officer, has over 23 year’s post-graduation experience, with over 20 years in the banking sector. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, an MBA in Finance and has attended several executive development programmes. He also held the same post with Stanbic Ghana.
He has worked with Ernst & Young and belongs to several professional institutes, including ICAN.
Reason for the appointments: The company explained that the appointments were made to bring fresh thinking and ideas as well as energy into the Group’s operations across the Stanbic IBTC Group; including Stanbic IBTC Bank and Stanbic IBTC Asset.
