The Nigerian Stock Exchange ends the week on a bearish note

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Friday’s trading session in negative territory, thereby ending the week on a bearish note. The All Share Index closed at 28,847.81 basis points, down 0.17%.

Year to date, the index is down 8.22%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 8.70% to close at N0.25. NEM Insurance Plc gained 7.76% to close at N2.50. Prestige Assurance Plc rounds up the top three gainers for today. The stock gained 6.38% to close at N0.50.

On the flip side, ABC Transport Plc was the worst performing stock, declining by 10% to close at N0.27. Seplat Petroleum Development Plc also fell by 9.98% to close at N522.
Africa Prudential Plc rounds up the top three losers for the day. The stock shed 9.92% to close at N3.54.
Top Trades by Volume: Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 44.5 million shares valued at N11.1 million were traded in 10 deals. Sterling Bank Plc was next with 24.7 million shares valued at N65.7 million traded in 43 deals.
Access Bank Plc rounds up the top three most actively traded by volume with 20.9 million shares valued at N147 million traded in 234 deals.
