Zenith Bank trades heavy volumes as NSE closes negative

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended Thursday’s trading session in negative territory. The All Share Index closed at 28.896.25 basis points, down 0.24%.

Year to date, the index is down 8.06%.

Top Gainers and Losers: Africa Prudential Plc was the best performing stock today. The stock gained 3.15% to close at N3.93. Dangote Flour Plc gained 1.19% to close at N16.8. Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc rounds up the top three gainers for today. The stock gained 0.46% to close at N43.7.

On the flip side,  Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc was the worst performing stock today. The stock declined by 9.96% to close at N2.44. Julius Berger Plc also fell by 7.63% to close at N23. Zenith Bank Plc rounds up the top three losers for the day. The stock shed 2.20% to close at N20.

Top Trades by Volume: Zenith Bank Plc was the most actively traded stock today. 28 million shares valued at N576 million were traded in 572 deals. Access Bank Plc was next with 40.7 million shares valued at 283 million traded in 316 deals. Sterling Bank Plc rounds up the top three most actively traded stocks with 23.7 million shares valued at N63 million traded in 2234 deals.
