Chams Plc, Dere Awosika, CHAMS Plc brings back Demola Aladekomo as Chairman following Dere Awosika’s resignation

In a notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and published on the NSE website for the investing public, Chams Plc has made the following changes to its board:

  • Very Rev. Ayo Richards has resigned as Non-Executive Director and Board Chairman.
  • Dr. Mrs. Dere Awosika is now the new Board Chairman of Chams Plc.
  • Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and Alhaji Yusuf Modibbo have been appointed Non-executive directors.
  • Mayowa Olaniyan and Funke Alomooluwa have been appointed executive directors.

Profile of the new Chairman

Prior to her retirement from the Federal civil service in January 2013, Ajoritsedere Josephine Awosika had occupied several positions before rising to the post of a permanent secretary.

She was National Coordinator/Chief Executive of the National Programme on Immunisation, Director (Parastatals) in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Director (Department of Community Relations & Youth Development) in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

She was at various times the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministries of Internal Affairs,  Science & Technology and Power. Awosika before joining the Federal Civil Service worked in several hospitals in the country.

Awosika attended the Ahmadu Bello University where she graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. She then obtained an M.Sc. in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Bradford and capped it with a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Technology from the University of Bradford.

She also attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in 2006.

Awosika became a fellow of the West African Post-Graduate College of Pharmacy in 1998, and a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) in 2001.

She is the daughter of Nigeria’s one time Minister of Finance, Festus Okotie-Eboh.

Chams Plc is currently trading at N0.20 in today’s trading session on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, unchanged from the prior day. The stock has been at an all-time low, since December 2018.
