NSE ends Friday in the green as GT Bank tops volume chart

The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended today’s trading session on a positive note. The All Share Index closed at 32,058.28 basis points, up 0.61%. Year to date, the index is down 16.17%

Top Gainers and Losers 

AXA Mansard was the best performing stock today. The stock closed at N1.90, up 9.83%. Prestige Assurance was next with a 9.80% gain, to close at N0.56. Livestock Feeds Plc rounds up the top three gainers with a 9.62% appreciation, to close at N0.57.

On the flip side, University Press was the worst performing stock today. The stock fell by 9.43% to close at N1.92. C and I Leasing was next with a 9.25% decline to close at N2.06. Eterna Plc rounds up the top three losers with a 9.09% decline, to close at N4.50.

Top Trades by Volume 

The three most actively traded stocks were from the banking space. Guaranty Trust Bank was the most actively traded stock today. 47 million shares valued at N1.7 billion were traded in 254 deals. Diamond Bank was next with 22.8 million shares valued at N21.1 million traded in 103 deals. UBA rounds up the top three with 21.4 million shares valued at N167 million traded in 153 deals.

Courteville Business Solutions has announced the appointment of Oladimeji Sanni as an Independent Non-Executive Director, and the resignation of Ms Helen Emore a Non-Executive Director.
