The Board of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Ravindra Singh Singhvi as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer, COO. His appointment took effect on August 13th, 2018.
Information about Mr Singhvi’s appointment is contained in a public disclosure which was issued today to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) by the company; in line with the NSE listing requirement.
In view of this appointment, Mr Singhvi replaces Mr Olakunle Alake who until recently was the Chief Operating Officer of Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc.
Mr Singhvi is an Indian national with nearly 40 years of professional experience, spanning such areas as manufacturing, sugar processing, cement, petrochemicals, etc. He also has performed secretarial duties as well as general management.
He holds a degree in Law from The University of Judhpur in India. He is also a Chartered Accountant.
Before joining the Dangote Group, Mr Singhvi held the following positions:
- Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NSL Sugar Limited in Hyderabad, India
- Managing Direct, EID Parry Limited in Chennai, India
- President, Indo Rama Group, India
- President, Birla Group
- Executive Director, S. Kuma Nationwide Limited, India
Mr Singhvi is said to have helped transform most of the companies he had worked in; helping to improve performance and ensure profitability. He has also helped companies to raise capital (through loans) for different projects.
