MTN Nigeria’s Pascal Dozie has some very important business advice for entrepreneurs

Dr Pascal Dozie

Dr Pascal Dozie, Chairman, MTN Nigeria Communications Limited

Pascal Dozie has called on Nigeria’s entrepreneurs to be strategic and transformational leaders whose major preoccupation should be about creating value in order to scale up their businesses.

He stressed the need for value creation while stating that any business model that focuses more on profit-making instead of value creation is a poor business model.

He also advised entrepreneurs to desist from applying the same unworkable principles and methodologies while expecting great results. According to him, some of the best ways businesses remain profitable and competitive is by creating value and expediting growth.

Most times, people are stuck doing the same thing. For instance, in the villages, if you find an individual doing business in one particular line of trade before long others join the business; instead of thinking of how to add value to improve businesses and the society. People should be more concerned on how to structurally improve the economy rather than doing what others are doing.

The transformational business leader, who is currently the Chairman of MTN Nigeria Communications Limited, gave the advice on Wednesday while speaking during a book launch by Frank Nneji, the Chairman of ABC Transport.

Commenting on the book titled  Who Says You Can’t, Dozie said it is a valuable addition to the economy. He also extolled the author, whom he said is an entrepreneur worthy of note who “has imbibed the culture of transactional and transformational leadership.”
