Africa’s richest man and President Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has been named amongĀ 75 most powerful people on the planet.
According to the 2018 Forbes ranking of the world’s most powerfulĀ individuals, Aliko Dangote was ranked 66 on the 75-man list.
He is the only Nigerian on the list and the second African who made the list, with the other being the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who was ranked the 45th most powerful.
The list also had world leaders like the Chinese President, Xi Jinping; the Russian President, Vladimir Putin; and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who were ranked first, second and third, respectively.
According to Forbes, DangoteĀ owns nearly 88% of publicly-traded Dangote Cement through a holding company whichĀ produces 44 million metric tons annually and plans to increase its output 33% by 2020 withĀ stakes in publicly-traded salt, sugar, and flour manufacturing companies. His real-time net worth is put at $13.2 billion.
He is also ranked among the 100 richest in the world and the richest in Africa, a position he has held for almost a decade.
Recall Aliko Dangote was also listed among Bloomberg global list of 50 most influential people.
