Abbey Mortagage Bank Plc posts loss after tax of ₦212 million in 2017.

Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc has released its financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2017.

The report shows a loss before tax of ₦177.9 million as against ₦134.4million in 2016.

The report also that loss after tax grew to ₦212.38 million from ₦167.9 million in 2017.

The Company, which was incorporated in Nigeria as a private limited liability company on 26 August 1991, obtained its license to operate as a Mortgage Bank on 20 January 1992, commenced business on 11 March 1992 and later converted to a public limited liability company in September 2007.

On 21 October 2008, the Company became officially listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Following the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Company changed its name from Abbey Building Society Plc to Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc on 16 January 2014. The principal activity of the bank includes the provision of mortgages and banking services to the general public.
