As the festive season draws near, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation allayed rumours of scarcity of petroleum products in the country.
The Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru prodded the company’s subsidiary, Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) to device strategies that would align with profitability. He spoke at the inauguration of the board of directors where he urged that the company ensure steady supply of petroleum products even after the festive season. The Managing Director of the PPMC, Umar Ajiya, also expressed his confidence that the resuscitation of depots in parts of the country had contributed to the steady supply of petroleum products nationwide.
Baru assured that petroleum products will be available nationwide before, during, and after the festive season.
More optimism on petroleum products came from the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Downstream and alternate Chairman of the Board, Ikem Obi, who said that he was positive about the country’s downstream sector and stressed that the nation would never return to the era of scarcity of petroleum products.
So all things being equal, we can all hang on and have a blissful festive season.
